Finance stream has opened up a variety of opportunities and hence there are various options to choose from. How does one zero in to start with?

Choose CA, complete it and thats all !
If not CA then for Accounting & Reporting Roles – ACCA is good qualification and comes with very good flexibility
Investment & Analysis Roles – CFA
Management Accounting Roles – CIMA
Can I not do an MBA? Of course yes. If you can score more than 99%, have deep pockets to spend INR 15-30 Lacs, you can aim for the Best B.schools, only then MBA will make sense. Otherwise no point in spending money and 2 years for an MBA which will not give you the job you want. Very simple. In the non-top tier B-Schools find out what placements students are getting, if those are what you are looking for then go for it!
Many times B.com & MBA graduates get hired for the same role and similar pay! We have come across that some companies go to campuses and hire commerce & science undergraduates from the same college and those companies also higher MBA & M.com graduates. All these candidates get into the same role, similar pay. Question is why did the person do an MBA? He would have got the role with graduation itself right?
So its clear that MBA from “any ABC institution” won’t work.
